Hypnotherapy is often misunderstood – and that’s understandable. For many people, the word ‘hypnosis’ brings to mind stage shows and swinging pocket watches. But the reality is much calmer, much more grounded, and far more useful.
At its heart, hypnotherapy is about helping you make positive changes by working with the part of your mind that runs beneath the surface – the subconscious. That’s where habits are formed, where beliefs take root, and where many of our responses to life’s challenges begin.
By accessing this deeper part of your mind in a safe and relaxed state, we can gently explore what’s holding you back and start shifting the patterns that no longer serve you.


What does hypnotherapy involve?
In a typical session, you’ll be guided into a relaxed state – similar to daydreaming or zoning out – where your mind is calm, but still alert.
In this state, you’re more open to positive suggestions, helping us reframe unhelpful thoughts and behaviours.
It’s not sleep. You’ll still be fully aware of what’s happening. And you’re always in control – you can open your eyes or stop at any time.
